The IMS GLC Learning Impact Awards Australian Regional Finals will be held again in 2011 and representatives from vocational education and training (VET) are encouraged to start thinking about their application. The awards recognise outstanding applications of technology that improve learning and address the most significant challenges across all education sectors. The top three Australian finalists will receive support to attend and compete at the 2011 international awards. Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) funded projects have had a great deal of success in the past at this event. The QTImPlayer and Mobilae projects, both recipients of funding and support through the Framework’s emerging technology trials, are two of the three Australian finalists selected to compete at this year’s international awards, being held in California from 17-20 May. The QTImPlayer also competed at the 2009 international awards, where it was named the Best Mobile Learning Solution for leading the way in the relatively new mobile e-assessment field.
