Two projects which received seed funding and support through the Australian Flexible Learning Framework’s (Framework) emerging technology trials have been selected as Australian finalists in the 2010 IMS GLC Learning Impact Awards. At the awards ceremony, held at the IDEA10 conference in Melbourne, the QTImPlayer and Mobilae projects were two of the three finalists commended for their outstanding application of technology that addresses the most significant challenges facing education. As Australian finalists, they will receive support to now attend and compete at the international awards in Long Beach, California from 17-20 May 2010. Both projects investigated how mobile technologies can facilitate and enhance hands-on learning outside traditional classroom environments, tapping in to the immense potential of e-learning to deliver flexible, just-in-time learning – anywhere and anytime.
