Registrations are now open for the ePortfolios Australia Conference 2010, one of the first cross sectoral e-portfolio events in Australia.

The event will feature an impressive line-up of national and international speakers, facilitated conversations and more than 40 breakout sessions showcasing current e-portfolio practices and their application in vocational education and training (VET), higher education (HE) and adult and community education (ACE).

Themed Widening participation – engaging the learner, keynote speakers and presenters will demonstrate the ways e-portfolios support learners to transition between education and training, employment and industry areas.

The conference is supported by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), the Australian Learning & Teaching Council (ALTC) and key organisations representing VET, HE and ACE.

Draft program available

An interim draft program is now available. Highlights include:

  • Dr Bret Eynon, LaGuardia Community College
    Dr Eynon will showcase LaGuardia’s vast experience with developing and implementing e-portfolio projects, providing valuable insight into lessons learned along the way. 
  • Ruth Wallace, Charles Darwin University
    Learner identity has been shown to impact the ways disenfranchised learners engage with formal education. Ruth will discuss the implications of learner identity on improving the use of e-portfolios in VET.

A full draft program will be available from the conference website in mid-August.

The Vendor ePortfolio Showcase, to be held on the evening of the first day, will showcase a variety of e-portfolio systems. Conference participants can register to attend as part of their conference registration.
