$1.1m funding to develop e-learning Toolboxes
Registered training organisations (RTOs) throughout Australia can now apply for a share of $1.1 million in funding to develop Flexible Learning Toolboxes (Toolboxes).
The national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), is looking to fund and support the development of Toolboxes which address e-learning development priorities for key skills shortage areas, identified in consultation with Industry Skills Councils.
Toolboxes are high quality, cost effective interactive e-learning and assessment resources featuring scenarios, images and activities which make learning more engaging and flexible. Toolboxes can be purchased on CD-ROM and installed on a server or used on a stand alone computer.
Toolboxes developed in 2010 should build on or re-use existing Toolbox resources and include a sustainability/green skills focus.
Toolbox Business Manager, Harriet Wakelam, is encouraging all RTOs to consider applying for funding.
“Whether a TAFE, private or enterprise RTO, Toolbox development is a great way to become involved in the production of high quality e-learning content,” she said.
Submissions close at 12.00 noon (AEDST) on 16 February 2010.
