Have you got your e-learning Toolbox?
The current range of Flexible Learning Toolboxes (Toolboxes) represents learning design at its best.
Tried and tested over many years, these interactive e-learning and assessment resources can be customised cheaply and easily to form complete training programs that match your individual training needs.
Here’s a couple of facts you may not know about Toolboxes:
- They are aligned to nationally endorsed training packages and developed in line with Industry Skills Councils.
- They meet the requirement for employability skills to be mapped through training packages.
- They include RPL (recognition of prior learning) pathways.
- Teacher Guides accompany all Toolboxes purchased as integrated programs from TVET Australia (these are low cost resources costing approximately $400).
- Toolbox Champions operate in all states and territories, giving you free personalised assistance in implementing and customising Toolboxes.
New Series 12 Toolboxes released
Five new Toolboxes have just been released as part of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework’s (Framework) Series 12 Toolboxes. Click on the below links to preview the Toolboxes:
- Licensed to Plumb 12.01 - provides an engaging, media-rich, interactive learning experience to support five units of the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services.
- Indigenous Spiritual Wellbeing 12.03 - covers five units from the Certificate III and Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. It provides training for health care workers in Indigenous communities, focusing on supporting and assessing clients with mental health, alcohol and other drug issues.
- Electrotech 12.04 - supports five core units from the Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician). Learners complete hands-on activities and challenges while learning about basic electrical concepts, electrical occupational health and safety, fabricating electrical components, and using drawings, diagrams, schedules and manuals.
- Timber 12.05 - covers six core competencies from the Forest and Forest Products Training Package and supports a wide range of Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications including sawmilling, merchandising, and manufactured products.
- Retailer 2 12.06 - an extension of the Series 10 Retailer Toolbox. It covers core units from the Certificate II in Retail, as well as five selling, merchandising and marketing electives.

You can purchase these Toolboxes (approximately $400) from TVET Australia, or download the learning objects from these Toolboxes for free through the Toolbox Repository.

The successful recipients of Framework funding and support for the development of Series 13 Toolboxes will be announced soon.
The Toolboxes team was delighted by the level of interest shown in securing a share of the $1.1 million available to registered training organisations across Australia, and is looking forward to working with the successful developers in 2010.
