Toolbox workshop: From the repository to the CD

Flexible Learning Toolboxes (Toolboxes) are high quality, cost effective interactive e-learning and assessment resources developed by the national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework). Toolboxes feature scenarios, images and activities, and can be installed on a server or used on a stand alone computer.

This hands-on workshop will show you how you can quickly and easily distribute training materials to learners by creating a self-opening CD-ROM containing Toolbox learning objects. You’ll have the chance to create your own CD-ROM, including a simple index page featuring your business logo and corporate information, operating instructions, and links to learning objects.

Let’s Talk VET

The Let’s Talk VET Consultation Forum is an opportunity for all stakeholders in the vocational education and training (VET) system to build networks; share experiences, knowledge and ideas; and learn about innovative VET initiatives and programs.

The Framework is presenting three sessions at the conference:

Vet Reload: Create a learning object in 20 minutes
VET Reload is a powerful free tool which enables VET practitioners to create learning objects using existing resources, such as Word documents, PDFs, audio files, and photos.

This hands-on workshop will showcase learning objects created with VET Reload, take you to the Framework’s new website to download the VET Reload tool, and provide you with the opportunity to assemble a sample learning object using VET Reload (bring a USB in case you want to save any files).

From the classroom to the web
Translating your classroom practices to the online learning environment can be daunting. This session will show you how to identify and create effective online resources, using online design principles developed by Professor Ron Oliver from Edith Cowan University.

2009 E-learning Benchmarking survey
Find out how you can participate in the Framework’s 2009 E-learning Benchmarking survey (being launched in the ACT on Monday 27 July), to help to ensure an accurate representation of the uptake, use and impact of e-learning in VET in the ACT.

e-Gems: Using the QTImPlayer for effective and efficient workplace training and assessment

The Framework’s QTImPlayer mobile device enables training providers to provide more effective, efficient and flexible training and assessment, by eliminating the need for paper work and double entry of data, and enabling teachers and trainers to remotely assess learners on the job.

This session will provide a step-by-step introduction to using the QTImPlayer for mobile workplace assessment.
