ACPET DET VET Futures Learning Series

The ACPET DET VET Futures Learning Series offers more than 40 events and sessions featuring engaging speakers on topics relevant to vocational education and training (VET) practitioners. These events are provided by ACPET (Australian Council for Private Education and Training) and DET Queensland (Department of Education and Training)

The national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) works in partnership with ACPET to support the growth of e-learning within private education and training.

The following two half-day sessions will be held across Queensland during June and July.

Session 1
Moderation and validation practices

This practical and interactive session, presented by Managing Director of Crestfern, Lesley Wemyss, focuses on moderation and validation processes.

Participants will learn how to check that an assessment tool can produce sufficient, current, valid and authentic evidence to meet the requirements of AQTF (Australian Quality Training Framework) training packages.

Session 2
Emerging technologies which support learning and assessment capacity building

This practical workshop demonstrates how emerging technologies such as e-portfolios and mobile devices can support workplace and RPL (recognition of prior learning) assessments, including the fast tracking of apprenticeships and traineeships.

Presented by the Framework’s E-portfolios Business Manager, Allison Miller, and the Framework’s Queensland Flexible Learning Toolbox (Toolbox) Champion, Denise Morgan, the session will also demonstrate some of the latest Toolbox learning objects.

All sessions cost $22 each per person and will be run in Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane, Caloundra, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.
